Who can sell on Young Republic
Do I need to be young to sell on Young Republic?
No. Although we aim to encourage and empower the young communities of Australia, Young Republic is open to emerging, upcoming and independent labels and designers of all ages!
Is Young Republic open to designers outside of Australia?
At the moment we are focusing all of our efforts in building and growing the talented designers Australia has to offer. If you are not from or located in Australia, please feel free to contact us and we will keep in touch if any opportunities open up.
I am a supplier / stockist / manufacturer / distributor. Am I able to sell my products on Young Republic?
If you have not had any design input into your products, then unfortunately we cannot allow suppliers, stockists, manufacturers or distributors to be "designers" on Young Republic. Please contact us and we may be able to offer alternative arrangements.
I am an Australian designer/label but I only distribute wholesale. Can I still have my products on Young Republic?
Please contact us to organise wholesale arrangements.
Listing Items
Do the items I list have to be handmade?
No. We accept any means of creating and/or manufacturing your designs.
Do the items I list need to be made or manufactured in Australia?
No. As long as your items were designed in Australia or by an Australian individual or company, it does not matter where they are made.
Can I list vintage items?
Yes, if the item you are listing has been modified to include your design input. If your items have not been modified, please contact us to for alternative arrangements.
How long are my items listed for?
We will allow items to be listed indefinitely, as long as you will be able to fulfil the order at any time. Please ensure you keep your inventory up to date.
Is there a limit to how many items I can list?
There is no limit to how many designs or quantity of a design you may list. However, Young Republic reserves the right to impose limits to certain sellers if the amount of products listed reaches an inappropriate or unfair level that may cause disturbances to customers or other sellers.
Fees
Does it cost to join?
No. It is completely free to join Young Republic!
Does it cost to list my products?
No. It is completely free to list your products on Young Republic!
How do the fees work?
We have implemented a flat 10% fee upon your sale total (including shipping rates) to keep it very simple – no fussing over confusing calculations to determine how much fees you are paying. For example, if your sale total is $50 (product $45, shipping $5), the only fee deducted is $5.
Why are shipping costs included in the fee calculation?
This is for three main reasons:
1) To encourage sellers to keep shipping costs as low as possible for our customers
2) Many designers on Young Republic offer "free shipping", or shipping rates that are included in their overall product price. By including shipping costs when calculating fees, we are offering an even playing field for all designers.
3) To keep it simple, so all you need to do is concentrate on what you do best – designing!
Are there any transaction fees?
Young Republic absorbs all transaction fees into our flat 10% fee to make it very simple for our designers. Your earnings will be deposited straight to your account on a weekly basis, so there are also no additional transaction fees (unless your bank charges fees on amounts deposited – generally they do not).
When do I receive payment for my sales?
Young Republic will forward all earnings (minus fees owed) on a weekly basis, for orders that have been dispatched. If you have any orders that are open and have not yet been dispatched to the customer, you will receive payment in the next cycle as soon as the order is dispatched.
Cancellations, Returns and Refunds
Can customers request for an order cancellation, item return, or refund?
It is completely up to designers whether they decide to allow order cancellations, returns or refunds. Please ensure you clearly outline your Returns Policy on your Profile Page. See below on how to handle cancellations and refunds.
I have not yet received payment for my sale. How can I refund a customer?
You will need to submit a Cancellation Request via your Seller Admin Panel. Young Republic will be able to refund the customer directly in full.
Miscellaneous
Can I provide links to my website on my profile page or product description?
Yes we allow links to external non-ecommerce websites only if there is a clear and visible Young Republic badge or links back to the Young Republic website. Unfortunately we cannot allow links to other e-commerce venues or online stores. Click here to get a Young Republic badge for your website »
